Winning the first-ever Trophy Kart race is how Dave Mason Jr started his career in off-road. He advanced into the Pro-Buggy class, where he won races and was one of the most consistent podium finishers in the history of the division. In 2019 Dave Jr. made his debut in the premier class of the Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series piloting the eBay Motors Pro-2. The Series changed ownership in 2021 and became the Great American Short Course (GAS). Dave Mason Jr won the first-ever GAS PRO-2 Championship with 2 wins and more Podium finishes than any other driver. In addition to short-course, Mason has become an accomplished desert racer. He competes regularly in the SCORE Off Road Series and Best in the Desert Series. When time allows Dave Jr. can also be found competing in motocross events and unique dirt bike rides around the nation.
